EMILY & JOSH

This elopement film holds sentimental value for me as it was taken place on the coast of Southern Oregon, where I am originally from and have spent countless summers there growing up as a child. Emily & Josh spent the morning of getting ready in their isolated cliffside airbnb, overlooking the view while the storm was passing through (and when I saw storm, I mean a TORRENTIAL downpour). This didn’t discourage us from pursuing our day together. Once the clouds parted and Emily & Josh were cozied up in their sweats, we took advantage of our time to do their ceremony. It was short and sweet with their photographer being their officiant and their closest friends and loved ones watching and cheering them on over Zoom. Then it was time to actually get them dressed and head over to their chosen lookout location just outside Myers Creek Beach to read their personal vows. But of course as soon as we arrived, it POURED…again. After what felt like ages waiting out the storm in my car, the clouds parted once again and we were blessed with the most incredible sunset — just in time for their official first look and vows. It was breathtaking. I don’t think I’ll ever forget this moment; how it felt, the smell of the ocean, the gentle breeze in the chilly air, the orange glow of the sun dancing within the hairs of Emily’s head, the sound of Emily & Josh giggling over their vows to each other. After their vows, we spent the rest of the evening capturing photos along the lookout and ended the night playing around with lanterns under a blanket of stars.
